SNKR – another week gone by

Hello, lovely friends!  I can’t believe it’s been a week since last I checked in.  I hope all is going well with all of you!

It’s been a busy week of yoga, theatre, and domestic goodness.  In the past seven days, I’ve cleaned the house from top to bottom, done half a dozen loads of laundry, baked Parmesan Wonton Crackers and a giant batch of M&M cookies, attended several local theatre and comedy productions, and had an epic ladies night with my two favorite gals.

Between working a 45 hour week, commuting on foot and by bus, and everything mentioned in the prior paragraph, there has been very little time for knitting…but I did manage to squeeze a few hours in.  Seriously, one of these days, it would be fab to sort out a way to get paid to stretch, bake, and knit.  :)

and then there were two

After my crafty ladies [belated] holiday party a couple of weeks ago, my owl collection was depleted.  I’m down to these last two little guys, and I’ve got a couple of interested parties in the wings.  (see what I did there?)  Custom orders have been requested by several friends, and it will be nice to have a little stash of them handy for gift giving, or just to keep on display around the house.

I hope to show you the fruits of my labors in next week’s SNKR.  Nine little bodies are ready and waiting for transformation into full fledged owls!  I’ve also got a couple of washcloths in the works with some very pretty Knit Picks yarn.

To give myself a break from the owls so I don’t get burned out, here’s what I’ve got up next in my Ravelry queue:

  1. Bunny Nuggets
  2. Knit Chickens
  3. Handwarmers

A few people I know are expecting babies in the very near future, and I think it would be fun to give them little toys for their tots.  Obviously, the bunny nuggets would be scaled up, and notions would be hand sewn instead of safety eyes or other plastic parts.  I’ve been jonesing for a new pair of handwarmers, since I’m always knitting things for others and not myself, and the chickens just plain look like fun.

As always, I look forward to hearing about what you’ve got in the works – pix or it didn’t happen!
