SNKR – moar owls!

Domesticity has been the order of the week in the Haus of Jesspants.  Baking, cooking, living room yoga, and knitting have filled most of my spare hours.  This week of hunkering down and becoming one with my couch has largely been thanks to the cold weather and heaps of snow we’ve been experiencing in Minnesota.

I’ve been saying this for thirty years, but it still holds true: I am SO over winter.  I sincerely hope this will be my last one for a while.  Winter and I need some time apart.

Anywho, back to the subject at hand – it’s time for your friendly neighborhood Sunday Night Knitting Report!

Superb Owls

Thanks to the aforementioned cold weather we’ve been having, I’ve made a lot of progress in knitting-town.  My yarn stash was de-stashed, and several skeins of yarn were selected to be re-homed to a friend’s daycare.  A few previously knitted items (hats, washcloths, and legwarmers) were found and given new homes that aren’t the bottom of my knitting basket.  And, as you can see from the above picture, a couple of new owls joined the ranks of my stuffed animal pile.

A few of my friends who are just crazy for owls – seriously, they collect ceramic owls, wear owl shirts/jewelry, and even make crafty owl-themed things for their homes.  I’m not huge on them myself, but when I searched the archives on Ravelry, little owl nuggets were right at the top of the “knitted creatures that are cute and easy to make” list.  Hence, everyone I know will be getting cute knitted owls for a long time to come.  I somehow doubt they will mind.

Also, since I’ve been making so many of them, and currently have five of them sitting in formation on top of one of the boyf’s speakers, the little critters are really starting to grow on me.  Maybe I’ll become a convert to the ways of the owl yet.

Anything new in the world of crafts this week, friends?  I’d love to see what you’re working on!
